Annual performance report of the Optics and Quantum Headquarters
In recent decades, the replacement of light-based technologies with classical electronic and cable technologies and, on the other hand, the very promising horizons of quantum technologies have been proposed as a revolutionary technology. The Headquarters for the Development of Optics and Quantum Technologies under the Strategic Technologies Development Center of the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy in 1402, as the first year of its establishment, has tried to fulfill its mission in the fields of promotion, modeling, assistance in the acquisition and development of technology for Contact academics and knowledge-based companies as much as possible.
In the field of technologies related to optics, photonics, laser and plasma, the maturity and updating of existing technologies in order to enter the market and create wealth was targeted, and for this purpose, the completion of demand-oriented projects was prioritized for support. Therefore, this year, the headquarters will focus on completing current projects, defining another part of technology edge projects and holding international events. But in our beloved country of Iran, quantum technologies are currently in the stage of creating and developing the technological ecosystem, and therefore training of expert human resources, holding events and conferences along with persuading and equipping laboratory infrastructures seems to be an essential need. For this reason, the headquarters tried to gain sufficient knowledge of actual and potential researchers to enter the field of quantum technologies and, according to the advanced and precise infrastructures required by this technology, create the necessary coordination and convergence between the beneficiary institutions of this technology.
In the coming year, the completion of laboratory equipment projects, the creation of a precise system for the evaluation of projects, and the establishment of joint domestic and international mission-oriented cooperation will be in the focus of attention. In this regard, taking advantage of the collective wisdom and valuable points of view of academic elites, entrepreneurship and technology experts will be the driving force and guarantor of the best efficiency of the headquarters' efforts. Considering the importance of this principle, the Optical and Quantum Technology Development Headquarters is always ready to receive ideas, opinions and suggestions from thinkers in the field of science, technology and innovation with a new approach, compatible with the country's coordinates and problem-oriented.
